Innovative foam construction, ship-in-a-box design, and 45-minute setup bring year-round hot tubbing without traditional cost and installation headaches
PLANO, TX, UNITED STATES, September 8, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Hot tub ownership has traditionally involved a choice between lower-cost portable options and more permanent spas, that can require significant investment, delivery, and installation. Inflatable and soft-sided foam spas have provided a more accessible alternative, but many have been designed with seasonal use in mind, while traditional acrylic and rotomolded spas typically require more extensive delivery and installation. SCS is entering that space with the EZLIFE Four Seasons Hot Tub, a foam spa designed to combine portability with insulation for year-round use.
The product reflects a broader shift in the home wellness category toward products that are easier to transport, install, and incorporate into residential spaces. The EZLIFE Four Seasons is designed to ship in a box, rather than through traditional flatbed delivery, addressing one of the often-overlooked costs associated with larger spas. According to SCS, traditional spa freight can account for up to 40% of the purchase price, while the company’s box-shipping approach is designed to reduce freight costs by an estimated 50–80%, compared with traditional acrylic and rotomolded spas.
Installation was another consideration in the design. The EZLIFE Four Seasons can be positioned by two people and set up in approximately 45 minutes, without specialized tools, a contractor, or a crane. The spa operates through a standard 110V household outlet, instead of requiring specialized electrical wiring.
The most significant distinction is its approach to insulation. While many portable spas are primarily associated with warmer-weather use, the Four Seasons was designed with heavy-duty insulation, intended to maintain water temperature throughout the year, including during colder winter months.
“We looked at the hot tub category and saw a gap,” said Mike Dolder, CEO of SCS (Supply Chain Sources). “Consumers shouldn’t have to choose between an affordable spa, that may not perform when temperatures drop, and a traditional spa that costs thousands more, and requires a major installation. We wanted to create a third option…something that was affordable, portable, easy to install, and designed for all four seasons.”
The combination of box shipping, simplified installation, and four-season insulation represents a different approach to hot tub ownership. Rather than treating the spa as a permanent
installation, requiring advance planning and specialized delivery, the Four Seasons can be positioned in an appropriate outdoor space with access to a standard electrical outlet, and relocated if needed.
The product is part of SCS’s broader focus on making home wellness products more accessible through design and engineering changes that address practical consumer challenges, including space, installation, and cost.
The EZLIFE Four Seasons Hot Tub will be available at Costco beginning in October.
