LAS VEGAS, NV, UNITED STATES, August 26, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Nevada Guardian Services, LLC, a licensed private professional guardianship agency based in Las Vegas, has entered its 19th year of service to vulnerable adults, families, and the courts across Nevada, with its 20th anniversary arriving in March 2027.
The agency was incorporated in March 2007 and holds Nevada private professional guardian license #PPR11003. Over that period it has served as court-appointed guardian, neutral third-party agent under Power of Attorney, probate administrator, and trustee for Nevada residents who could no longer manage medical, financial, or personal decisions on their own.
Professional guardianship is a court-authorized relationship in which an appointed guardian holds legal authority to make specified decisions for an adult found unable to make those decisions independently. In Nevada, guardianship is supervised by the courts under NRS Chapter 159, and guardians submit care plans, reports, and financial accountings for review. Professional guardians are compensated only after a court reviews and approves a fee petition documenting time, tasks, and benefit to the protected person.
“Nineteen years in this work has taught us that authority is the smallest part of the job,” said Susan M. Hoy, president, chief executive officer, and founder of Nevada Guardian Services. “The real work is listening to the person in front of you, protecting the decisions they can still make for themselves, and being accountable for every one we make on their behalf.”
Nevada Guardian Services operates as a nationally certified guardian agency and follows the National Guardianship Association Standards of Practice, including the least restrictive alternative principle, which holds that guardianship should limit a person’s independence no more than necessary. The agency’s certified guardians include Tina Rusgaitis and Sindy Cardiel, both credentialed National Certified Guardians.
The agency’s service lines have expanded well beyond guardianship over its first two decades. Alongside court-appointed guardianship of the person and of the estate, Nevada Guardian Services provides Power of Attorney support when full guardianship is not warranted, probate administration for estates settled under Nevada law, and trust administration that includes Special Needs Trusts, Income Trusts, and Family Trusts.
Referrals reach the agency from families, elder law and estate planning attorneys, hospitals and medical teams, care facilities, social workers, and Nevada courts requiring a neutral professional fiduciary. Nevada Guardian Services does not provide legal advice and directs families to licensed attorneys for questions of law.
Demand for professional guardianship and fiduciary services in Nevada continues to rise as the state’s older adult population grows and more families face decisions related to cognitive decline, financial exploitation risk, and long-term care planning. The agency is planning a series of educational resources for families and referral professionals to mark its 20th year in March 2027.
